The Casey Sakir Point Scholarship is awarded to a student planning a future in the fields of design, fashion or the arts.
Casey Sakir was born December 14, 1968 and grew up in Tucson, Arizona. He attended both the University of Arizona and Arizona State University studying architecture and design, before settling in Phoenix. His impeccable taste and larger than life personality helped him develop a successful career in interior design. While his professional practice was based in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, Arizona his work spanned the country. He was a designer at heart and never failed to share his wit, wisdom or strong opinions with clients and friends alike. He was passionate about design and talented at every level, but Casey will be mostly remembered for his laughter, love and generosity. Casey was animated, stylish, handsome, sarcastic, stubborn, charming and very humorous. He lived life to its fullest and truly touched all who had the joy of knowing him.
Casey died in a car accident at 36 years old and will forever be young and beautiful. This Point Foundation scholarship honors Casey’s life and seeks to help other talented students achieve their creative and educational goals. Established by his close friends and family, the Casey Sakir Point Scholarship is awarded to students planning a future in the fields of architecture, design or fashion.
